Safe Communities Algarve provides assistance to the GNR and civil authorities concerning crime prevention in the Algarve. It provides downloads concerning crime prevention advice in both Portuguese and English that people can easily access this. The purpose of this is to make people more aware of crime and public safety and take steps to prevent untoward incidents.

In particular causing a fire is a criminal offence and causes loss of life, injury, destruction and puts at risk fire fighters and other agencies. I am pleased to add to the website and information on fire protection that can help prevent fires particularly forest fires.

Fire prevention brochures can be sent to my email and I will try my best to post these on the website.

Another role of Safe Communities Algarve is to help the Government authorities disseminate information from civil authorities such as the Bomberios to the English speaking community in the Algarve. This covers matters concerning public safety and requests for donations and resources.
